  Lakers Features: LA back with winning ways after win over Blazers The Lakers bounced back from a brutal loss to the Brooklyn Nets with a 134-110 blowout win over the Portland Trail Blazers. It was a D'Angelo Russell brilliance, as the Ohio State item set up 34 points in as many minutes, adding on as many assists (seven) as missed shots. LeBron James added 28 points, five rebounds and six assists, as the Lakers built an important lead at halftime. They never looked back from there. The team performance was brilliant as LA shot 55% from the field and a great 93% from the free toss line, making things look easy and setting themselves up for a much-needed win.  The Lakers get down to business next against the Trimmers on Tuesday night, in what ought to be a truly thrilling game.   Denver Nuggets beat Boston Celtics, 102-100 The best team in the NBA in the Celtics received their first loss after a close fight against Denver Nuggets Jamal Murray scored 35 points, Nikola Jokic finished with 34 and Denver held on to hand the Boston Celtics their first home loss of the season, 102-100 on Friday night. Jokic added 12 rebounds and nine assists to help the defending NBA champions end the Celtics' streak at 20 home victories. It was the first of two regular-season meetings between teams with sights on representing their respective conferences in the NBA Finals. They play again in Denver on March 7.

  NBA: Streaking Cavaliers defeat Bucks with Antetokounmpo out Donovan Mitchell scored 31 points and the streaking Cleveland Cavaliers rolled to a 135-95 rout of the Milwaukee Bucks, who were without superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo on Wednesday. Georges Niang shot 13 of 14 from the field and scored a career-high 33 points as the Cavaliers won their sixth straight and improved to 11-3 since they lost Darius Garland (broken jaw) and Evan Mobley (knee surgery) with injuries last month. Antetokounmpo sat with a bruised right shoulder, an injury that sidelined him for the first time since Nov. 15. Jarrett Allen notched his 10th consecutive double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds for Cleveland, which completed a perfect six-game homestand and now plays the next four on the road.
