RCBW secure thrilling 2-Run win over UP Warriorz 


In a nail-biting encounter at the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (RCBW) clinched a thrilling 2-run win against UP Warriorz (UPW) in the second match of the season. Despite UP Warriorz holding a commanding position midway through the match, RCBW staged a remarkable comeback to emerge victorious.

The game witnessed an intense battle with several standout performances. Grace Harris and Shweta Sehrawat of UP Warriorz built a formidable 77-run partnership for the fourth wicket, steering their team into a strong position by the second timeout. However, the tide turned dramatically when RCBW's Asha entered the fray for her final over, claiming three crucial wickets and shifting the momentum in her team's favor.

Despite a late surge from UP Warriorz's Poonam Khemnar, who smashed successive boundaries and posed a threat, RCBW's Wareham and Molineux kept their nerves steady, delivering crucial overs to seal the victory in the 19th and 20th overs respectively.

The standout performer of the match was RCBW's leg-spinner Sobhana Asha, who put on a stellar bowling display, capturing five wickets for just 22 runs. Additionally, Molineux's early dismissal of Healy for UP Warriorz proved to be a vital breakthrough.

RCBW's batting also showcased formidable performances, with Sabbhineni Meghana scoring a crucial 53 off 44 balls and Richa Ghosh contributing an impressive 62 runs off 37 balls.

The victory marks a successful start for Royal Challengers Bangalore Women in the WPL 2024, much to the delight of the home crowd in Bengaluru.
