India vs Syria : AFC Asian Cup: India lose by 0-1
India finished at the last of the four-team Group B after being defeated all their three matches without scoring any goal.
India's journey in the Asian Cup football tournament came to an end with a 0-1 loss to Syria in their final group match in Al Khor, Qatar on Tuesday. Omar Khrbin, a substitute from Syria team, scored the crucial goal in the 76th minute, securing Syria's chance for a spot in the knockout round.
India ended at the bottom of Group B, losing all three matches without scoring a goal. This is not the first time India has failed to progress to the knockout round, having faced similar outcomes in 1984, 2011, and 2019. The country had achieved the runner-up position in 1964, when only four teams participated in the tournament.
