The Interim Budget 2024–25 will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to Parliament on Thursday, February 1, one day following the start of the Budget Session. Estimates of the government's spending, receipts, fiscal deficit, financial performance, and forecasts for the following months are included in the interim budget. The newly elected government is expected to present the whole budget following the Lok Sabha elections.

The Finance Minister will lay the groundwork for the interim financial plan until the next government takes office on February 1 at 11 a.m. The finance minister will deliver the budget for the sixth time, five of which will be annual and one interim.

The budget address by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be broadcast live on Doordarshan and Sansad TV, the official channels of Parliament.

With her budget address, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has started presenting the Interim Budget 2024 in Parliament.

"When we assumed office in 2014, the country was facing enormous challenges. With 'Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas' as its mantra, the government overcame those challenges," Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during the presentation of the Union Budget 2024.

In the second term, our government doubled down on its responsibility to build a prosperous country, says Nirmala Sitharaman.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government is working to make India 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. "Our focus is sabka sath, sabka vikas," she said.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government is focusing on four major groups - poor, women, youth and the farmers.

PM Janman Yojana helps tribal groups who have remained outside realm of development, said Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government has helped 25 crore people to get freedom from poverty in last 10 years.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that she hopes the people of the country will again choose the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections with a resounding mandate.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that Goods Service Tax (GST has" enabled 'one nation one market one tax'. "Tax reforms have led to deepening, widening of tax base," she said.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the government focused on more comprehensive 'governance, development, performance' - 'GDP'.

All ASHA and Anganwadi workers will receive benefits from Ayushman Bharat, said to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the government will help "deserving" sections of middle class to build their own houses.

To provide long-term finance with a long tenure and no or low interest rates, a corpus of ₹ 1 lakh crore will be developed with a 50-year interest-free loan. 

To improve deep tech for defense, a new technology will be introduced.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, "FDI now means 'First Develop India,'" and added that bilateral trade agreements will be promoted to increase FDIs on cards.
