The Women's Premier League 2024 commenced with an electrifying encounter between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. In a match brimming with talent and drama, MI emerged victorious in a thrilling finale that left spectators on the edge of their seats.

The match saw the seasoned campaigner Meg Lanning making her debut appearance in Bangalore, adding another chapter to her illustrious career. Despite a quiet start, Lanning showcased her class by swiftly changing gears and steering the MI innings alongside Alice Capsey. Her astute leadership further silenced any doubts regarding her commitment to the Capitals franchise.

Capsey, under slight pressure amidst a star-studded overseas lineup, vindicated the management's faith with a blazing 75 off just 53 deliveries, setting the stage for a formidable total.
