In a thrilling final match of the Women's Premier League 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (RCBW) secured their first-ever championship title by defeating Delhi Capitals Women (DCW) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Delhi Capitals Women started aggressively with openers Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning setting a brisk pace. However, a sudden collapse saw them lose three wickets at the score of 64, including Jemimah Rodrigues and Alice Capsey both departing without scoring. Despite Shafali Verma's impressive knock of 44 runs off 27 balls, supported by Meg Lanning's 23 runs, Delhi Capitals could only manage to score 113 runs, all out in 18.3 overs. RCBW's bowlers, especially Shreyanka Patil, Sophie Molineux, and Asha Sobhana, put up an outstanding performance, restricting DCW's batting lineup with their effective spells.

Chasing a target of 114 runs, RCBW began steadily with openers Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine laying a solid foundation. While Devine scored 32 runs off 27 balls, Mandhana contributed 31 runs off 39 balls. Ellyse Perry's unbeaten 35 runs off 37 balls ensured RCBW's victory alongside Richa Ghosh's crucial boundary. Delhi Capitals Women's bowlers couldn't break through RCBW's resilient batting lineup, allowing them to chase down the target in 19.3 overs.

The match witnessed intense moments, particularly with Sophie Molineux's remarkable performance, claiming three crucial wickets in an over, triggering DCW's collapse. RCBW's spinners, including Shreyanka Patil and Asha Sobhana, maintained pressure on DCW's batsmen throughout the innings.
